This dynamic husband and wife team bring their Chicago sound to the desert. Veteran bluesman Gary Gand handles the six strings, driving the band, channeling a bit of Eric Clapton, Freddie King and Jeff Beck rolled into one.  Keyboardist Joan Gand, grooves on classic Hammond B-3 style organ and bluesy piano with inspiration from Booker T. Jones, Jimmy Smith, and Ramsey Lewis, all while her left hand is laying down the bass.

The Gand Band is known for their philanthropy and fund-raising efforts with their "concerts for a cause."  They have worked with Desert Cancer Foundation, AIDS Assistance Program, Palm Springs Animal Shelter, Well in the Desert, FIND Food Bank, Palm Springs High School Arts Institute, and many other organizations to plan successful fundraisers.

Throughout the season, special guests will join the Gand Band - watch for special shows as they are announced.  Their renowned blues series as part of the Desert Blues Revival, is going into its 3rd year with a monthly residency at the Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs. Theme shows include Woodstock, British Invasion, Motown, Spy Music, Tiki Chic, Laurel Canyon, Forever Elvis, Havana Nights and more – you’ll rarely see the same show twice with the Gand Band!

The Gand Band appears in the documentary film, "My Name is Lopez" - a documentary about 60s celebrity vocalist/actor Trini Lopez.  Trini was a frequent guest performer until his death in 2020.  The film is streaming on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Roku, and other channels.

A vinyl album, The Gand Band Live at the Plaza Theatre, was recorded live at the historic theater in Palm Springs. With cover art by the artist, Shag, and in conjunction with the Shag Store, the albums sold out and profits went to the “Save the Plaza Theater” restoration project.
